Dr. Cassidy Ketchum

Dr. Cassidy has dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since she was just four years old. While that childhood dream never changed, her passion for veterinary medicine truly grew in high school when she discovered a love for biology and the science behind how the body works. Today, she enjoys combining that love of science with the challenge of solving medical puzzles for patients who can’t tell us what’s wrong. One of her favorite aspects of veterinary medicine is the partnership between veterinarian, client, and pet working together to provide the best possible care.

Originally from Diamondhead, Mississippi, Dr. Cassidy graduated from Our Lady Academy in Bay St. Louis in 2018. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 2022 from MS State University before receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University in 2026. During veterinary school, she served as an officer for the Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA), the Feline Club, and Students for One Health. She was also recognized for her academic achievements with Dean’s List honors and the Merch Academic Excellence Award.

Dr. Cassidy’s professional interest includes feline medicine, internal medicine, ophthalmology, dermatology, and nutrition. She is passionate about practicing evidence-based medicine while building trusting relationships with pet owners and helping every patient live a healthier, happier life.

Saucier Veterinary Hospital has been an important part of Dr. Cassidy’s journey since 2019, when she began shadowing and working alongside the team. She credits Dr. Ann, the dedicated staff, and the wonderful clients and patients with helping shape her into the veterinarian she is today. Returning to the hospital as an associate veterinarian is especially meaningful, and she is honored to give back to the community that played such an important role in her education and early career.

When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Cassidy enjoys reading, drawing, painting, crafting, and scrapbooking. She shares her home with Lucky, a Shih Tzu-Poodle mix and beloved family dog and Bud Bud, an FIV-positive domestic shorthair cat who found his forever home with her after being adopted from one of the hospital’s clients.
